Mikhaëlle Salazar
Quebecer of Chilean origin, began playing the violin at the early age of five years old, following in the footsteps of her father, a bassist, guitarist and singer. Alongside being an instrumentalist, she decides to dedicate herself to singing and undertakes a jazz cursus leading to a University of Montreal degree in 2015.
Nowadays, she performs in different ensembles, namely with the Teresina Quartet along with Jim Hillman, Impulso Flamenco, the Thiscotech collective, and with the Neptune vocal ensemble. As a multi-talented artist, she has appeared several times as a backing singer in the popular television show « En direct de l’univers », a Radio-Canada production, and also made an appearance at the Radio-Canada 75th anniversary gala.
She also performs in many Montreal venues, such as Le Balcon, Le Dièse Onze, the Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, the House of Jazz, Le Petit Medley as well as across the Maisons de la Culture network.
